METALLICA's HETFIELD Says He Wanted MEGADETH As Support Act For Moscow Concert
July 20, 2007Russia's Darkside e-zine has posted video footage of METALLICA's July 18, 2007 press conference that took place prior to the band's concert at Moscow's Tuborg Greenfest. When asked why they chose Finland's H.I.M. as the support act for the Moscow concert, drummer Lars Ulrich replied, "'Cause they're very close by." Guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield then (presumably) joked, "I wanted MEGADETH," before Ulrich quipped, "I wanted GORKY PARK."
METALLICA's appearance in Moscow was the final gig of the band's "Sick of the Studio '07" European tour.
